Yay, spring!

Sorry Saskatchewan, but I'm lovin' the effects of this strange weather! It reached 20 degrees today!! Honestly, felt and smelt like spring.

Took in the beautiful weather and went to the park - Realized that I love the Bugaboo Frog stroller that my friend has. This is a problem because it's a bit pricey, and she's offered to lend me anything except the stroller because they use it all the time. And second hand Bugaboos, for some reason, aren't a whole lot cheaper than new ones... And really, I don't know a whole lot about strollers. Can you please tell me what I actually need??? Or, at least, what you love/hate about yours???

Speaking of little people, I've been spending a lot more time with little B lately. Hanging out with him and learning some mommy moves makes me think that I stand a chance... Then I read blogs like this and realize, I really don't.

So stay tuned for more questions in the little people department!

I think our stroller is a Graco. The kind that comes with a car seat that clicks in. For the most part we're pretty happy with it (except it doesn't really fit in my car - tight fit in the trunk, tight fit in the front seat, kinda works in the back seat if you only have one kid). I still remember "test driving" strollers at Sears with Devin. I watched him walk up and down the aisle with a stroller and thought - he's gonna be a dad! Kinda weird to see - lol. I hate strollers with little tiny wheels. Us "country folk" need big tires for gravel roads, but I don't know that I'd get one with small tires, even if we lived in the city.
I just asked Devin what he thought about our stroller as he walked by. He said - you get what you pay for. Overall I think it's true. And if there's going to be more kiddos in your future, it's likely a worthwhile investment. If not, you can sell your bugaboo for almost what you paid for it - everyone else is doing it, why not you?

Mine's a graco too. I really like it. It's pretty basic. It's got the carseat that clicks in as well as the base that stays in the car (I think that's pretty standard these days!)

Not sure if there's anything I really hate about it.

Make sure you don't get something really heavy - remember you'll be hauling it in and out of your apartment, or car quite frequently.

Don't worry - you'll get the parenting thing all figured out, we just need to find the patience to be willing to figure it out all again a few months later! And for every one of the hair-pulling moments, there's a sweet moment too. Tennyson really is a great kid. And he wouldn't be normal if he just sat happily in the corner and worked on fractions I suppose. Good thing he's so darn cute.

It's funny, when Elliot gets crying about stuff I find myself wondering "What the heck is her problem? She KNOWS that I'll feed her, change her, cuddle her, etc." And then I correct myself - because I'd probably not do most of those things as regularly (except for the cuddling, maybe) if she didn't howl a bit. :)

Kids anyway. I seriously wouldn't go back and undo it, even knowing about the bumps along the way, and even NOT knowing about the bumps to come!

Don't feel bad about spending a lot on the stroller, you use it a lot, and like Sonya said you could sell it. I know a few friends who have bought cheap, then had to buy again with more kids or a broken something. We are apartment dwellers and we have an SUV, but its not a huge vehicle, so we looked for something that folded quite compact. The bugaboo looks like it would fold well (i just looked at it on their website, they are discontinuing the frog model at the end of this year).
We went with the peg perego Pliko (we got the infant seat with, year end sale,last years model=good deal...maybe you should shop around now). One thing I would change...I would purchase a jogging travel system from the get go. I like to jog, thats why. And the big tires roll SO much easier, even on grass, never mind a gravel road, if you have to. that's our take :)

you better leap like a frog if you want to get that bugaboo ;)

Yes, the Bugaboo frog *is* on sale right now ('cuz the 2011 models have just been released!) And good point Sonya, we can turn around and sell it after.

Thanks for your support everyone, I thought I'd be deemed crazy for spending so much on a stroller.

{Now if the Baby Orbit could just drop (by at least the half!) in price... }
