April:
Finish last assignment by 15th
Work FT 16th-22nd invigilating exams while enjoying a beautiful week 'off'!!
- 'Off' meaning working full-time downtown with an hour and a half commute both ways... but once I was home...My time would be ours, oh ours! I could delve into photography books! Practice with the cam! Scrapbook a page or two!??!?! The options were endless, and I was so looking forward to them.
- Visit, play, relax, enjoy!!!
then...
May
Complete literature review and officially submit it by the end of the month.
June-July
Process the statistics from my data, analyze results...compare/contrast against literature...etc.
August
1-30th Write, submit, present, & defend.
31st - 'graduate'!!!!
Then I received an e-mail from my supervisors
"Please note that both ** and I will be traveling a considerable amount this summer. We require your statistics to be processed by the 15th of MAY" [Emphasis mine]
GAH!!!! 15th of May? How???
"We would like to meet with you on the 29th of April to discuss your progress."
Discuss my progress? I'm just finishing up my work for the full-time semester here. That's progress to me...But I have a feeling they aren't interested in hearing about that progress. They want to see the work I have(n't!) done since last meeting in March. Oh common' I have (correction: had!) scrapbooking planned ladies!!! Sigh.

Looks like I will have something to do during that commute and between 11:30pm-6:45am, the only hours I will have available to increase productivity. That's too bad because I had plans for then too: SLEEP!

yuck!!!!
that just sucks...good luck with the meeting!
Ooh, that's not cool...change of plans. I do wish you the best with scheduling your time, it'll work out, right?? :)
Just email them back and tell them of your scrapbooking plight, I'm SURE they'll change their mind.
Okay, just to make sure - the thing you were supposed to wrap up at the end of August is the thing they want done in May?
If so - that is INSANE!! How on earth are you supposed to condense four months worth of work into one?
I was actually going to call you today (because I feel really bad for you about all this!), but I couldn't find your number!
Is it possible to put off working full-time for a little while to let you get a head-start on all this? Because it really seems like working full-time and finishing up your project is going to be ridiculously stressful!
Thankfully it's not the *whole* project that's due by the middle of May, but rather the stats part, the part that I was pretty sure was going to take me 2 months, not one while working and travelling. With this new plan I will have 3 months after stats processing to first write the literature review, then, using my results, write the report. It's kind of a backwards way of going about it - getting the results section completed before the background stuff. But hey, such is research!!! The Supers expect that I *know* the literature though, I simply just don't have it written out. Riiiighhht...
Thankfully I still have till the end of August to complete the whole project. If not, you are absolutely right in it being impossible.

As for backing out of working, I just don't have the heart to do it. I'm helping run McGill's undergraduate exams. They need people. I need the moola for the trip and a surprise new computer. I also need a break for computer work.
No worries though. This too will get done! This too shall pass!! And this will *not* completely get in the way of seeing our beautiful families in less than 2 weeks.
Thanks for all your support everyone! I feel validated :P
