This world we live in. How could it be? Exam time + a threatening message written on a bathroom wall = security guards at every major intersection of the university hallways, at every entrance, and at the top of every flight of stairs. At work, on every floor, there are at least 2 guards...One in uniform, one undercover.
Montreal has good reason to take these kinds of things seriously. The memories of a recent high school incident in 2006, and the infamous PolyTech in 1989 make these things no matter to try and call a bluff on.

I work on the 5th floor of a 30 floor tower. The other day I saw the strangest sight, a Canadian milatary personnel escorting an individual wearing a full white lab suit and wearing a mask (as though they were cleaning a chemical spill??). Of course they went up the 15-30 floor elevator bank. I had just come back from lunch with Quinn and my mind wondered, what could be happening, maybe they will deploy a bomb...? Will I see Quinn again? I was on the cell with Quinn and I didn't want to say bye, what if?? Lord, protect me and the baby. At 4:30 when I was peacefully out the doors of the building, what a relief. How silly of me to worry! They were prob just going to see a lawyer or something. Sigh...
