We headed over to Ottawa to celebrate Canada Day on Parliament hill. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time, thanks to our new Ottawa friends. Here are a few highlights from our day...
The buskers:
I just love watching them at these kinds of events. They have so much talent!
The entertainment on Parliament Hill:
Overall, it was pretty good, but of course our favorite was Paul Brandt!
The incredible crowds!
The fireworks!
Happy 141 Canada! (Happy 400th Quebec City!)

Paul Brandt? Oh Candice, say it ain't so!
Sorry Tiffany, but we are huge fans of the Samaritan's Purse/World Vision associated, talented, chirstian, Canadian family-man that he is. He's still making great music and writing awesome songs after all these years. He didn't let fame and fortune go to his head - he's with the same wife, keeps his children out of the spotlight, and supports the hospital he used to work at as a nurse. Overall, just a really good guy, and it really works out that he has awesome music too.
So, yes, I have to say that it actually *is* so.
That was so cute. It's like a commercial for Paul Brandt! You'll have to ask Lyla & Angela, we've been good-naturedly debating over Paul Brandt for years. They never miss a concert, well until Lyla got a boyfriend anyway!
She even had a ticket, too!
I love Paul Brandt! I did miss one concert because I was supposed to have had a baby by then, but that didn't happen either. Long story, won't get into it. A great way to spend Canada Day.
YOU SAW PAUL BRANDT???!!!! WHAT??!!!
Lyla - Yes, yes we did. We decided that we would go to the Canada Day festival at Parliament Hill if Paul went. He did, and therefore so did we!
[He played last time I went to Canada Day at P.H. too but I was like 12.]
